Top 10 Beauty Picks
12 AprI completely thrive and rely on friends’ recommendations about beauty products, so I have decided to reciprocate. I have compiled a list of 10 beauty products that I absolutely recommend and cannot live without.
Without further adieu, here is what I like to call my “Beauty Bible:”
Shadow Insurance is used as a primer base under your eye shadow. It’s designed to bring out the pigment in the shadow, eliminate creasing, and extend the wear of your eyeshadow. I use Shadow Insurance every time I do my eye makeup, and it REALLY makes a difference.
2. Aussie Hairspray Mega Collection
I have just recently started using this hairspray, and I am so glad I did. It smells great and holds a hairstyle while keeping the natural movement.
3. Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer
I absolutely love using this moisturizer day and night. It’s lightweight, scent-free, and has an SPF 15. The Daily Facial Moisturizer is for all skin types, so it does a good job of providing adequate moisture without making your face oily.
4. Palmer’s Olive Oil Replenishing Conditioner
Found in the “Ethnic Hair Care” section, this conditioner is thick, creamy, and smells natural. I have thick, course hair that dries out pretty easily, so the thicker the conditioner the better. I use Palmer’s Olive Oil Replenishing Conditioner every time I wash my hair, but once a week, I leave it on for 5 minutes to get a deep condition.
5. Origins Zero Oil Deep Pore Cleanser
Best. Face wash. Ever. Every time I use this Origins cleanser, I feel like I am at the spa. The scent is relaxing, the wash generates a slight foam, and leaves skin feeling clean and refreshed. Origins Zero Oil Deep Pore Cleanser is literally heaven in a bottle.
6. Phillips 3 Row Teasing Brush
I have a hair motto: the BIGGER the BETTER, and this teaser easily fuels that philosophy. Not only does it help gain height at the crown, but it also does a good job of smoothing the tease because no one wants their hair to look like a rat’s nest. Again: the BIGGER the BETTER.
I discovered this gem when I was a student at the Barbizon School of Modeling and Acting. During my time at Barbizon, I learned how to properly apply makeup, and they introduced me to the wonders of concealer, TV Touch in particular. I get dark circles under my eyes and unfortunately a little acne here and there, so I apply TV touch to the areas I want masked and, voila, my skin tone looks smooth and even. Another plus, it lasts awhile, so the cost is COMPLETELY worth it.
I was fortunate enough to have braces when I was younger, so I owe it to my parents to keep my teeth looking good. Professional whitening services are expensive, but Crest White Strips are an easy, affordable option. And, better yet, they actually work. Here’s what I did: I used my first pack as directed. Once I had my desired whiteness, I only used the Crest White Strips one time per week to maintain the color. Again, easy and way less expensive than having it done professionally.
So, I must confess, I like to use my hair motto (the BIGGER the BETTER) for my eyelashes too, and DiorShow Mascara delivers. I use it in Black, and it’s the only eye makeup I wear during the day. With only a a couple coats, eyelashes are look thicker, longer, and WAY more attractive!
I love Smart Shade because it changes with your skin. It’s designed to adapt to your personal skin color, so it looks perfect when applied. It’s also really light and has an SPF built in. Love it!
What do you think? What would you put in your personal Beauty Bible?

Furry Boots
25 JanWinter is in full force, and boots are the most popular (and most fashionable) way to keep your toes warm in the cold temps. I personally love my black over-the-knee boots and caramel brown leather riding boots. There are lots of options when it comes to boots, but there are a certain style in particular that I want to focus on for this “Your Taste Tuesday.”
Ok, so what do you all think about furry boots? Are they chic and rugged, or are they just too over the top?

Bright-Colored Leggings
16 NovLast time, you all overwhelmingly decided that the socks and heels trend needs to fade ASAP.
So, this week I want to try another hosiery-related trend: Bright-Colored Leggings. What do you all think about them? Is it a good way to add the pop of color to your outfit?
Love it, leave it, or absolutely can’t stand it?
